What can I do for you?
I like to think of physiotherapy as climbing a mountain together. It’s a team effort – I go with you on your journey. I can help by diagnosing your condition and ‘guiding’ your recovery, providing ‘trail route’ or treatment options, and making the ‘climb’ seem less formidable. I encourage you to ask questions so you can more effectively understand your condition and become an active participant in your treatment. Together we will work towards reaching your goals – whatever they may be!
How else can I help you?
I also utilize Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) therapies to help release tight muscles, improving your range and ease of movement. In addition, I provide a home exercise program to help you maintain this new range and strengthen it to recover and prevent injuries in the future.
I have also been practicing yoga for the past 7 years and have completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training – and learned about the importance of diaphragmatic (or belly-) breathing and the synergistic connection between the mind and the body. I try to integrate these lessons into the exercises I provide to my patients.
Want to know a little bit more about me?
I grew up on Vancouver Island, sailing and exploring the waters of the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound. After completing my MScPT in Alberta, I am thrilled to be back on the Island, returning to the ocean, rain, and green coastal forests. You can also find me hiking, biking, practicing yoga, and playing the baritone.
